JUST IN | The provincial and regional leadership of the African National Congress (ANC) arrives at Khetlhakoni for courtesy visit to Modjadji Royal Council today, Tuesday, 26 May 2026. This is a continuation of the previous meeting held on Wednesday, 20 May 2026.
ANC Provincial Chairperson Comrade Dr Phophi Ramathuba, Deputy Provincial Secretary Vhamusanda Reuben Madadzhe, Deputy Provincial Secretary Comrade Pule Shayi, Provincial Treasurer Comrade Eddie Maila, PET Deputy Coordinator Comrade Basikopo Makamu, ANC Provincial Spokesperson Tonny Rachoene, Mass and Mobilisation Goodman Mtileni, and Regional Chairperson Dagma Mamanyoha, Regional Secretary Sonia Ngobeni-Maswanganyi are present.
During the engagement, the service delivery challenges facing local communities were discussed. Both parties agreed on the need to speed up projects aimed at improving access to clean water, repairing damaged roads, and local transport infrastructure, and developments such as the Mall at Mokwakwaila, among others.
The ANC and the royal council agreed to continue working together and maintain open communication to monitor progress on identified community issues.
An interdict application was sent issued against Dr Motshekga and Princess Masalanabo Modjadji and the pending application to review and set aside the President decision to recognise Princess Masalanabo Modjadji as the Queen Modjadji
In this regard, the ANC promised to return with the ANC deployee heading the committee, Basikopo Makamu, to respond to the matter. Today, MEC Makamu is here to continue the meeting.
